How to Build a Website or App by Talking — No Code, No Typing

By SayCraft · 2026-06-09 · 6 min read

Here's a search almost nobody types into Google but plenty of people ask out loud: “is there a tool where I can just talk and it builds the website for me?” For years the answer was no — every “AI builder” still handed you a prompt box and made you type. This is the guide I wish existed back then: how to build a real website or app by talking, with no code and no typing.

What does “building by talking” actually mean?

Building by talking means you describe the product you want in ordinary speech — the way you'd explain it to a teammate — and AI turns that conversation into a working website or app in real time. It's the voice-first branch of vibe coding: instead of typing a prompt and waiting, you talk, and the build keeps up with you. (It's not the same as “voice coding” in the developer sense — dictating code syntax aloud. You're describing the product, not spelling out functions.)

How do you build a website or app by talking?

With SayCraft the loop is just a conversation:

  1. Open a meeting and start talking. Describe what you want — “a portfolio site, dark, big photos, an about page and a contact form.” Speak the way you think.
  2. Watch it build live. The AI transcribes the conversation and turns each sentence into running code on the spot. You don't wait for a batch to finish.
  3. React to what you see. A shareable preview URL updates with every change. “Make the hero taller, move contact to the top” — say it, see it.
  4. Ship it. When you're done you have a live link, one-click deploy, and the source code to download. No export-slice-handoff dance.

What can you build by talking?

Two broad kinds, and SayCraft does both:

  • Websites — landing pages, portfolios, marketing and event sites, where look and message lead. (More on the AI website builder page.)
  • Apps — MVPs, internal tools, dashboards, and prototypes you can click through, where behavior matters. (More on the AI app builder page.)

You describe a site by its feel and sections; you describe an app by its screens and what each one does. Either way the output is a real, deployable product, not a static mockup.

Solo, or with your whole team?

This is the part typing can't do. Building by talking works alone, but it really earns its keep in a meeting: your designer, your PM, a client on the call — everyone talks, every voice feeds the same build, and everyone reviews the same live preview as it takes shape. The product gets decided the way it actually gets decided: in conversation. A prompt box only listens to one person at a time.

When talking wins — and when typing still does

Talking wins when ideas are coming fast, when a team is hashing it out together, or when you simply think out loud better than you write. It's faster (people speak roughly three times faster than they type) and it keeps the whole room in the loop. Typing still wins when you already know the exact spec and want to paste it precisely, or when you're a developer who'd rather stay in the code — for that, an AI code editor is the better fit. Pick the interface that matches how the idea is actually coming out of your head.

Frequently asked questions

Can I really build a website just by talking?

Yes. With SayCraft you open a meeting and describe the site out loud — the AI builds it live and a shareable preview URL updates as you talk. You don't type a prompt or write code; you describe what you want in plain speech and review the result on screen. At the end you get a live link, one-click deploy, and the source code.

Is building by talking the same as voice coding?

Not quite. "Voice coding" usually means dictating actual code line by line (tools built for developers with RSI). Building by talking is different: you describe the product in natural conversation — "a landing page with a bold hero and three pricing tiers" — and the AI writes and runs the code for you. You're talking about the product, not spelling out syntax.

What can I build by talking — websites, or full apps?

Both. SayCraft handles design-led sites (landing pages, portfolios, marketing sites) and functional, interactive apps (MVPs, dashboards, internal tools). You talk through the pages or the flows, and it builds a real, deployable product either way — see the AI website builder and AI app builder pages for each.
